StatusBet Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 — Effective date: 25 August 2026
1. Who we are
StatusBet is operated by Status Labs Pty Ltd (ACN 701 720 907) (“StatusBet”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, what happens to it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What we collect
When you sign up: your email address, a password (stored only as a cryptographic hash), and your state and suburb. You are issued a StatusBet account number; you may optionally set a display name in settings.
At or after your first purchase: confirmation of your age, and identity verification information where verification is required — we will tell you at the time what is needed and how it is handled.
As you use StatusBet: your Status ledger (Builds, bets, settlements, adjustments), your bet history, and your account settings. Purchases are processed by your device’s app store or another payment processor we make available — we never see or store your card or bank details; we receive purchase confirmations from the payment platform.
Technical basics: device and app-version information and service logs, used to run and secure the service.
We collect only what the service needs. We do not buy data about you, and we do not collect browsing data from outside StatusBet.
3. Why we collect it
- To run your account: sign-in, email verification, security notices (email via our email provider).
- To operate the product: Builds, the ceiling, the weekly reset, bet settlement, your histories.
- To meet age and identity requirements and to protect the service: verification, freeze reviews, duplicate-account checks.
- To respond when you contact Support.
- To publish what you choose to make public (section 4).
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising. We do not send marketing without consent.
4. What is public
Nothing about your account is visible to other users unless you choose to appear on the leaderboards, which you can set in settings. If you do, your StatusBet account number — and your display name, if you have set one — appears, and your bets (stake, odds, legs) become publicly visible only after settlement; unsettled bets are never public. Leaderboards and public profiles show settled activity for accounts in good standing.
We treat the existence of an account as private. We will not confirm to anyone else whether an email address or person has a StatusBet account, and our systems are built not to reveal it — including in error messages and support flows.
5. Who we share it with
Service providers who process data for us — hosting, database, email delivery, and the payment platforms that process purchases. Some providers may store data outside Australia. We may disclose information where the law requires it.
No one else. No data sales, no advertisers, no analytics brokers.
6. How long we keep it, and erasure
We keep account information while your account exists.
You can delete your account at any time, in the app (Account → Personal Details → Delete account), or by contacting Support if you cannot get into the app. Deletion erases your personal details — name, email address, date of birth and display name — immediately, closes the account permanently, and signs you out everywhere. A deleted account is never reopened; if you return, you start a new account.
Some records are kept after deletion: your account number, your region, your betting and Build record, and a log of key account events, which includes any previous email addresses on the account. These are kept for seven years and removed within the year after that, for security, fraud prevention and regulatory compliance, and are accessible only to Support. Copies of some information may persist for a limited time in routine backups and with the providers we use to send email and handle Support messages.
7. Your rights
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask for erasure (section 6). Contact us through the Support form in the app or at statusbet.app. If you believe we have mishandled your information and we cannot resolve your complaint, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
8. Security
Personal information is held in access-controlled systems; passwords are stored only as cryptographic hashes; payment details never touch our systems. No internet service can promise perfect security, but we build so that the sensitive path is as small as possible.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will notify you in the app or by email. The current version always lives at statusbet.app.
