StatusBet Terms of Service
Version 1.0 — Effective date: 25 August 2026
1. Who we are
StatusBet is operated by Status Labs Pty Ltd (ACN 701 720 907) (“StatusBet”, “we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and us covering your use of the StatusBet app and related services.
2. What StatusBet is — and what it is not
StatusBet lets you place bets on real sporting events at real odds using Status, a virtual currency that exists only inside StatusBet.
Status is not money. It has no monetary value. It cannot be cashed out, withdrawn, redeemed, exchanged, transferred to another person, or converted into money or anything of value — ever, under any circumstances. There are no prizes, no payouts, and no winnings of any kind. Nothing you do on StatusBet can return money or anything of monetary value to you.
You can spend real money on StatusBet (see section 5), but real money only ever flows one way: in. This is a permanent, structural feature of the product, not a promotional setting.
3. Eligibility
To use StatusBet you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- be located in Australia;
- hold no more than one account.
Confirmation of your age, and identity verification where required, may be requested at or after your first purchase. If verification is required and is inconclusive or fails, your account will be frozen (section 8).
4. Your account
You register with an email address and a password, and you are issued a StatusBet account number (like SB123456789), which identifies your account. You may optionally set a display name in settings. Keep your login credentials secure — you are responsible for activity on your account. Your email address must remain current and verified; account-security communications go there.
5. Status and Builds
- A Build: you may buy at most one Build per week. A Build costs AU$9.99 and adds 1,000 Status to your balance.
- The ceiling: you can only Build while your total position (your balance plus Status committed to unsettled bets) is below 10,000 Status. A Build is refused when your position is at or above the ceiling. The ceiling limits what you can buy, not what you can hold. Status above 10,000 is earned, not bought. That is true for everyone.
- The weekly reset: the Build week resets every Tuesday, Perth time (Australian Western Standard Time).
- Negative balances: account adjustments (such as a reversed purchase) can take a balance below zero. A negative balance is not a debt — Status has no value — but it must climb back above zero through the normal weekly structure before you can bet again.
These limits — the weekly Build, the price, the ceiling, the reset — are the product. They apply to everyone, always. We do not offer bonuses, free Status, inducements, promotional credits, or any mechanism that varies them.
6. Purchases and refunds
Builds are purchased through your device’s app store billing or another payment processor we make available. A Build is a digital consumable, clearly described before purchase. We do not offer change-of-mind refunds. We may, at our discretion, consider a refund request where a Build’s 1,000 Status is entirely unspent.
If a purchase is reversed after the fact — a chargeback, or a refund granted by the payment platform — the associated Status is reversed and your account is frozen pending review (section 8).
7. Betting
Bets are placed in Status against real odds on real events. Once placed, a bet is committed — it cannot be cancelled or edited. Bets settle when the underlying event’s result is available; settled winnings are credited in Status. If an event or market is voided or its result is corrected under our settlement rules, affected bets are adjusted accordingly, and any adjustment appears in your Status History.
Odds and event data come from third-party providers. We may correct display errors; a bet accepted at a manifestly incorrect price may be settled at the correct price or voided.
8. Account standing
Your account is normally active. It can also be:
- Frozen — automatically, when a trigger event occurs: failed or inconclusive verification, a chargeback, a payment-platform refund, or a duplicate-account flag pending review. Unfreezing is always a manual decision by us after review.
- Self-excluded — at your request, for the period you choose (section 9).
- Closed — by you, or by us for a breach of these terms.
While an account is not active, betting and purchasing are unavailable. Depending on the reason, other features may also be restricted.
9. Structural protections and self-exclusion
StatusBet’s limits exist by design: the fixed weekly Build, the hard ceiling, the weekly reset, the absence of cash-out and of all inducements. These are permanent product features and are not varied for any user, in any direction.
You may self-exclude for a period you choose. During self-exclusion your account is inaccessible and absent from public surfaces. Self-exclusion ends only when its period expires.
10. What other users can see
Nothing about your account is visible to other users unless you choose to appear on the leaderboards, which you can set in settings. If you do, your StatusBet account number — and your display name, if you have set one — appears, and your bets (stake, odds, legs) become publicly visible only after settlement; unsettled bets are never publicly visible. Leaderboards and public profiles show settled activity for accounts in good standing.
11. Acceptable use
You must not: use StatusBet if under 18; hold multiple accounts; use another person’s account or payment method without authority; interfere with, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service or other users; or use StatusBet for any unlawful purpose. Breach may result in freezing or closure.
12. Content and intellectual property
The StatusBet app, name, design, and content are ours or our licensors’. Team and competition names appear as sporting data; StatusBet is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any sporting league, club, or data provider except as stated.
13. Changes
We may update the app, these terms, or the service’s features. Material changes to these terms will be notified in the app or by email; continued use after notice is acceptance. The structural protections in sections 2 and 5 define the product — a change abandoning them would be a different product, and we state plainly that Status becoming redeemable is not something an update will introduce.
14. Liability
StatusBet is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law — including the Australian Consumer Law, whose guarantees are not excluded — we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for the conduct of third-party providers, or for interruptions to the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under law that cannot be excluded.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction.
16. Contact
